Have your say on the allocation of Lincoln Lottery Community Fund.
20 August 2021
City of Lincoln Council is consulting with the residents of Lincoln and Lincoln Community Lottery supporters on the allocation of the Lincoln Lottery Community Fund 2021.
The aim of the consultation is to identify the top two good cause areas you would like the Lincoln Lottery Community Fund 2021 to be allocated to.
A total of £10,500 has been raised in the Lincoln Lottery Community Fund between August 2020 and August 2021. A big thank you to all Lincoln Community Lottery supporters in helping to raise these funds.
This fund has been raised by supporters of the lottery over the past twelve months who have either directly selected the Community Fund as their good cause when purchasing tickets – 60 pence of every ticket sold goes towards this fund, or if selecting any of the other good causes when purchasing tickets - 10 pence of every ticket sold supports the Community Fund, with a further 50 pence going directly to the supporters chosen good cause.
The allocation of the Community Fund will involve three key stages.
Stage one – Consultation with you, residents / supporters of the lottery, to identify the top two good cause areas you would like the funds to be allocated to.
Stage two – Application process where good causes working in these top two areas will be invited to apply for funding to support a specific project / activity.
Stage three – Allocation of the funds to the winning applicants
Stages two and three will be managed by Voluntary Centre Services (VCS), which is a good cause located in the City of Lincoln. VCS provide support to the community and voluntary sector as a volunteer development agency and a local support and development organisation.
Good cause applications for funding from Lincoln Lottery Community Fund will be invited during September and October 2021, with the funds allocated to the successful applicants during November 2021.
Take part in the consultation and to have your say in where the funds are allocated above. The closing date for the consultation is 3 September 2021.
Cllr Sue Burke, Portfolio Holder for Reducing Inequality, said “Last year the community fund was used to support a number of good causes and schemes across Lincoln delivering vital assistance to the Covid response in the community.
“This year I am delighted that we are able to open this consultation and find out what good causes are close to the hearts of residents of Lincoln and players of the community lottery and use the fund to help further community projects in the local area.”
Did you know that just 50 tickets a week will see you raising £1300 a year for your cause. On average, our generous, loyal supporters buy more than one ticket too. If you would like to benefit from the lottery as a good cause, sign up for free below!
